Following accusations that Peers in the House of Lords have been attempting to filibuster the Assisted Dying Bill, in an attempt to cause it to fail by proposing an extraordinary number of amendments, the House has voted in support of extra time for the bill to pass through.
Now that the motion to give more time has passed, peers will engage in private negotiations on how much time will be given. This might involve late nights or early morning for peers.
Debates are ongoing, with only 10 out of 84 groups of amendments being debated so far, as further amendments continue to be submitted.
