Great news for Humanist weddings in Ireland and across Europe.

At the end of 2024, partners in the European Humanist Services Network (EHSN) agreed on a European Humanist wedding standard and an accreditation protocol for member organisations. An independent accreditation board began assessing partner wedding services in January 2026.

At a recent meeting in Oslo, the board officially approved and accredited the HAI Humanist wedding service in line with the EHSN Humanist wedding standard and agreed accreditation process.

As the only independent organisation in Ireland legally authorised to perform secular marriages, HAI is proud to meet these recognised European standards. This accreditation reflects our continued commitment to delivering meaningful, inclusive, and high-quality Humanist wedding ceremonies while strengthening cooperation and shared standards across the European Humanist community.
