Q. Is there an alternative to “godparents” at Naming ceremonies?

A. From Brian Whiteside, HAI Director of Ceremonies: There are many options as to what you call these very important people – Guide Parents, Life Guides, Sponsors, Mentors – but some people choose to stick with “godparent” as everyone know the term so well.  I think it’s ok – so long as we stick to a small ”g”.  Occasionally the term Oddparent has been used.  Other suggestions are welcome!
