When I was a teenager, I read a speech by Martin Luther King on social transition. He said that '….the greatest tragedy was not the strident clamour of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people.' And I have never been able to ignore what I think is disrespect, or inequality of any kind which led me to realising that I believed in many aspects of the definition of humanism.

Acting
I have acted in principle roles in Amateur Dramatics over the years, thus I am very comfortable in my role as celebrant and believe that a relaxed and professional celebrant allows the couple and guests to relax and enjoy their day, and my great grandfather, playwright George Bernard Shaw and I have a strong interest in literature which I hope is reflected in how I craft my ceremonies.
