RTÉ’s Angelus ‘doesn’t speak to the diversity of our society’

On April 12th, RTÉ dropped the broadcast of the Angelus to continue coverage of US President Joe Biden’s visit to Ireland. The Angelus is usually broadcast at 6pm just prior to the evening news. Is it time the national broadcaster got rid of the Angelus from its daily broadcast?

Newstalk’s  evening programme “The Hard Shoulder”, hosted by Kieran Cuddihy, invited Jillian Brennan, CEO of Humanist Association of Ireland and Independent Senator, Ronan Mullen to discuss.  This discussion is available as a podcast, 17 minutes in length.
