On 30th November, our CEO, Jillian Brennan, attended a special film screening and Irish launch of The Letter – A Message for our Earth in Áras An Uachtaráin, which was hosted by President Michael D Higgins and Sabina Higgins. The film, written and directed by award winning director Nicolas Brown, features Pope Francis, frontline environmental activists, youth activists and scientists in crucial dialogue to save our common home.
While the film is led by the Pope, the overall message is that all religious and secular leaders worldwide can work together to help eradicate climate injustice. The film shows some of the devastating effects of climate change around the world.
Film producer Nicolas Brown said: “After making The Letter, I now believe that the greatest existential threats we’ve ever faced as a species – biodiversity loss and climate change – will only be solved once the human race unites behind a cause greater than ourselves, and we respond to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor all at once”.
