General Assembly and Conference - Stockholm - 28th -29th May 2010
This year our meetings will be in Stockholm, Sweden. We start with an open meeting in the morning of Friday May 28. Our General Assembly follows in the afternoon. The next day - Saturday May 29 - we shall have a one-day conference on Women and Religion, as detailed below.
PROGRAMME
Friday 28 May:
The agenda for this meeting is not yet completely fixed but it will include:
- short reports of our work in the OSCE, the Council of Europe, the EU and the European Parliament - especially our successful lobby of MEPs in January
- the implications of the judgement of the European Court of Human Rights in the case of Lautsi v Italy - Pierre-Arnaud Perrouty, Europe and International Director, Centre d'Action Laïque, Belgium
- discussion of human rights abuses inside the EU, including:
- Romania - Beth Ciesielski, Executive Director, Fundatia Centrul pentru Constiinta Critica (Romanian Branch of Center for Inquiry Transnational)
- Poland - Andrzej Dominiczak (Polish Humanist Association)
The annual General Assembly will include discussion of our report for 2009 and our plans for 2010/11 and how they contribute to the long-term vision we adopted last year. The meeting is for representatives of member organisations of the EHF and for EHF individual (‘supporting’) members but others who support the EHF will normally be admitted.
Evening: Conference Dinner
This will take place at a nearby restaurant. Nearer the time we shall ask you to book your places for this celebration.
